Traditional and modern furniture making techniques are both employed during construction to ensure all our furniture stand the test of time and the rigours of the home environment.

From little acorns…

With backgrounds in cabinetmaking and furniture design Simon Lewis and Gordon Hill founded LEWIS&HILL furniture with the purpose of creating interiors of style and beauty which are both classic and timeless.

Truly bespoke

From humble beginnings in a domestic garage, the business has grown up through 3 further workshop moves to it’s current premises, a 6,000sq/ft manufacturing and showroom facility in Rearsby, Leicestershire.

One of our earliest beliefs was that each project, client and commission is unique, and that we would always focus firmly on the individuals’ needs to produce a design and product that is truly bespoke.

Traditional cabinet making

Many of our staff have grown with the business, in both skill and experience, and their use of traditional cabinet making techniques is combined with considered quality materials to produce furniture which is finished to the highest standards.

In house finishing

Handpainted or sprayed lacquer and paint finishes are all applied in house in our own finishing shop, and our sample service ensures those all important colour choices are made with complete confidence. From the initial design stage, through all the processes of construction and finishing, attention to detail is at the forefront of everything.

Artisan craftsmen

At Lewis&HilL we believe our staff are our greatest asset. We train all our cabinetmakers in-house to the same exacting standards, and have had considerable success with our apprenticeship programme.

Many of our team have been with us since the very early days of Lewis&Hill, growing and developing as craftsmen and people as we have grown and developed as a business. Traditional bench hand skills are taught and honed by daily practise in all aspects of timber machining and joinery.

At Lewis&Hill we only use our own staff for the installation of your furniture.
That’s because we believe our skilled cabinet makers are the best people for
the job. Once the furniture has been installed, our team of specialist paint finishers apply the final finishing top coats of paint or lacquer by hand…
and we only leave when the job is finished to your complete satisfaction.
